Frigg’s “Polka V” nominated for the Teosto prize among six finalists!
The Teosto prize is an award by Finnish Composers Copyright Society TEOSTO, and is given for the best work by a Finnish author published after April 2012. It’s now awarded for the 10th time, and one of the jury members is the Minister of Culture Mr. Paavo Arhinmäki.
Frigg’s album was published in July 2012 and has received lots of praised critics even internationally, e.g. a five star review in Songlines magazine this month.
Top Of The World - The editor’s choice selection of the 10 best new releases. Songlines is one of the finest magazines for folk and world music.
January 11th at Folklandia -cruise 3 Finnish folk albums got awarded with the price since (unbelievably) all of them had got exactly equal amount of votes! The two other albums awarded in the gala were Kardemimmit: Autio Huvila and Jaakko Laitinen & Väärä Raha: Yö Rovaniemellä.
